Hello Aardehn backers,
We’re excited to share another major milestone for Aardehn: Awakening.
Following our final editorial and layout review, we, along with the creators, decided to curate additional artwork for the book. With this stage now complete, we are wrapping up book design with the new assets in hand and preparing to submit all files to the printer, where they will enter the review queue as we coordinate print timing and move into full production.
We had hoped to be at this stage a little sooner, as we expressed in our previous update, but we felt that adding more art to the book and giving Eric the time to do so would elevate the project to its best self.
This marks a significant step forward and brings us firmly into the final phase of the journey. Once the printer completes their review and confirms scheduling (with any final adjustments, if required), we’ll have a clearer timeline for production and delivery — and we’ll share those details with you as soon as they’re available. That said, cursory discussion with the printer estimates the books coming off the press and being packaged by end-of-May.
Thank you, as always, for your patience and continued support as this project has extended beyond the original timeline. Eric and Sheldon are incredibly proud of the book they’ve built, and we’re excited to get it into your hands.

Aardehn: Production Update.

Dear Aardehn backers,
First and foremost, thank you for your patience and ongoing support.
At RAID, our goal is always to give creators the space needed to realize the strongest possible version of a book. While we set milestones and keep production moving wherever and whenever we can, life tends to happen, and sometimes distractingly so. At the end of the day, each of our books is a creator-driven project built around said creators, their vision, and their time — and that care and attention is what elevates the final work.
After a challenging year on personal fronts, we’re thrilled to share a clear step forward for Aardehn: Awakening. We have now received the majority of final artwork from Eric Vedder and have begun our final comprehensive editorial pass before moving into pre-press production.
This next phase will carry us through to the end of the month, at which point we’ll submit pre-press files to the printer and receive a full production schedule. As soon as that schedule is confirmed, we’ll share it with you.
Thank you again for staying with us on this journey as we bring Aardehn across the finish line.

Hello Aardehn backers,
We’re excited to share a new progress update on Aardehn: Awakening. Artist Eric Vedder has been making steady headway on the remaining artwork, and each new piece is being added directly into the final book layout the moment it’s completed. We’re also sharing a few in-progress illustrations here for your enjoyment.
This rolling integration allows us to move quickly into proofing and copyediting as soon as the final artwork is delivered — bringing us ever closer to the printing press and full project fulfillment.
Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm. We apologize for the overall delay with Aardehn, but we’re thrilled to see the vision of this book coming together so beautifully. We’ll be back with more updates as we continue toward the finish line!

An Aardehn update from Eric, and from team RAID!

Hello, dear backers,
Time has blurred by since the video update I made during Fan Expo Canada. The show came and went at the end of August, and I had high hopes of finalizing the book by the end of September. To say that the last 2 months have been too much is an understatement. I'm not here to delve into what happened, as it's a personal matter my family and I are still working through. Let's just say, life is a finicky thing, and you're never really prepared for the hard parts, but it does make you stop and think about how precious it is.
So, my beloved Aardehn got pushed aside.
I am happy to say, though, that I am back and working to finalize all the artwork by the end of November, so it can go to the good folks at RAID and into production and pre-press. Layout and design are already in motion, and the book is looking sharp. I know the kids at RAID bring their A+ game to make sure all our RAID press books look as good as they do.
I truly appreciate everyone's patience as we rally to wrap this up, and I look forward to sharing another update once I've put the finishing touches on the last piece of art.

...and, now, a hello from team RAID.
We just wanted to chime in and say we are working closely with Eric and Sheldon to get this book done, make it the best it can be, and have it in your hands as soon as possible. With the current projected timeline, we aim to have book production wrapped up in December and sent to our overseas printer before the holidays.
Should everything go smoothly, the book should be printed and packaged by mid-January, then shipped to us here in Toronto, Canada. With the book printing overseas, this altogether is generally a three-month process, which means we would be looking to fulfill in early-March, 2026.
As Eric mentioned, his goal is to wrap up the art by the end of November, and we will work together as effectively as possible to get this most excellent book into your hands ASAP.
